Health & Well-Being

It seems that awareness of personal health and well-being is as high as we can remember; it is brilliant that as a society we are more able and more willing to discuss how are feeling. It is getting better but there is still so much to do.

In our last plan, we ran a social prescribing pilot programme that used arts and culture projects and activities as a means for changing the approach to Health & Well-being. Please watch this video to see the type of work we did https://vimeo.com/686324919.

We have provided Mindful Walks from both Moorsley and Easington Lane on a regular basis and ran a number of projects to support Health & Well-being.

During lockdown we provided a lot of support to people to help with mental health & well-being from mindfulness sessions to suicide prevention projects, online community choir and arts projects like the one below

We also have developed a partnership with Easington Lane Primary School and School Run Fitness Camp to run free fitness sessions from out GYM in a Box, these sessions have been well attended and have seen some wonderful results.

Our new plan includes an exciting new project, we are planning to set up and develop a community cycling hub based at Elemore Country Park. We want this project to be led by the needs and wishes of local residents, so if you want to get involved please get in touch.

Please see our events page to find out when activities are taking place
